Arroyo Seco Canyon

Arroyo Seco is a shady canyon surrounded by residential neighborhoods. It is filled with eucalyptus trees. Their finger-like, waxy green leaves perfume the air. Beneath the trees, the canyon is filled with blackberry and (unfortunately) poison oak. Please stay on the trail.

The mile-long trail through the canyon ("Arroyo Seco" is Spanish for "dry canyon") is steep in parts and unpaved at the lower end. The northern access to Arroyo Seco is in University Terrace Park on Meder Street. The southern access is on Grandview Street, about fifty feet west of Escalona Drive.Watch for the small park marked "Residents Only." The trail is between the chain link fence next to the park and the back of the apartments to the right.
